World Book Day 2017
Today at Ben Jonson we are celebrating World Book Day. The children in each class have been invited to dress up as a character from their class story-time book. Throughout the day each class will be participating in a range of exciting activities around the theme of their book! Year 6 Atlantic are creating Howlers and potions based around the novel Harry Potter whilst Mediterranean are acting out performances around their book the Blurred Man.
Furthermore each class will participate in a competition ‘decorate the door’ to see who can create a classroom display which will be judged in the afternoon. Alongside this, classes are creating hampers to present artefacts and work that the children have created.
At the start of the day children in Reception, year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 had an assembly where they got to meet an exciting character… Book Man! Later on in the day, each of these classes were able to have a workshop with him where he introduced them to different books and promoted a love of reading.
The results of the competition will be announced later on in the week.
