English first-class cricketer visits Ben Jonson
As cricket is our school’s focus sport, we have some of the best coaches from the Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation coming in to deliver quality cricket sessions twice a week to children in KS2. Today we had the opportunity to have Daniel Bell-Drummond come in to do an assembly for our year 5 and 6 children.
Daniel Bell-Drummond is an English first-class cricketer, who plays for Kent County Cricket Club as an opening batsman. He has represented England at youth level and has played for England Lions at senior level. Daniel is one of the best young talents in the country and at the tender age of 21 he crashed a 92 ball century against Australia in a tour match before the 2015 Ashes.
Daniel introduced himself, speaking about his journey towards becoming a professional cricket player as well as the role models he looked up to. Daniel then answered some organised questions from the children before taking pictures and signing a cricket bat for our display.
Autumn Fair 2016
We had a wonderful time at the Autumn Fair. Each of us who attended had an ice cream to lick, a samosa to scoff, a toy to take home or if we were lucky, a prize from the raffle. Not everyone could win but we say well done to those who did win and we hope they enjoy their prizes. Everyone of us had a story to tell and for this we should be very grateful.
